Wolfe County News - Sept. 17, 1971 FRED WIREMAN DIED IN OHIO Fred Wireman, 78, Campton, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Willows Nursing home near Middletown, O., after a long illness. He was a life-long resident of Wolfe County. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a retired blacksmith and farmer. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; four sons Orville of Stanton, Ova of Middletown, Ohio, Virgal and Fred, Jr., of Campton; eight daughters, Mrs. Edna Hollon, Mrs. Violet Bailey, Mrs. Maxie Whitt, Mrs. Bertha Mae Combs, Mrs. Bertie Joyce Hollon, and Mrs. Betty Fay Banks, all of Middletown, Ohio, and Mrs. Vernia Roberts and Mrs. Jo Ann Spencer of Campton, two sisters, Mrs. Alma King and Mrs. Erna Campbell, both of Campton; 50 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Baptist Church with Rev. Ballard Johnson, Rev. Ramah Johnson and Rev. Omer Spencer officiating. Burial was in the Hollon Cemetery near his home at Quillin Chapel. Shackelford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Carole
