Wolfe County News - Oct. 1972 MRS. BLACKBURN DIES AT AGE 72 Mrs. Alice Sparks Blackburn, age 72, died suddenly Oct. 18 at her home on Big Andy Ridge. A life-long resident of Wolfe County, she was the widow of Sam Blackburn, and a member of the Tar Ridge Church of God. Survivors are four sons, Roy and Dulith of Middleown, O., Ernest and Dillard of Rogers; five daughters, Mrs. Delphia Reynolds, Mrs. Madge Roberts, Mrs. Barbra Bryant, Mrs. Carrie Byrd, and Mrs. Bertie Spencer all of Rogers; four brothers, John and Charlie Sparks, Rogers, Sam Sparks, Middletown, O., and Albert Sparks, Lexington, Ky., three sisters, Mrs. Roxie McClure, Rogers, Mrs. Sylvia Brewer and Mrs. Eula Boothe, Middletown, O., 40 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2;00 p.m. Oct. 20 at Tar Ridge Church of God with Rev. Omer Spencer officiating. Burial was in the Reynolds Cemetery, Tar Ridge. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home. Carole
