Wolfe County News - Nov. 2, 1971 God has called from our midst Stephen M. Tutt. He died at the Edgemont Nursing home in Cynthiana, Ky., Tuesday, October 12, 1971, after several years of illness. He was a retired lumber dealer, a member of the Methodist Church, the Lions Club, and served four years in the U.S. Army. He also owned and operated the Hurst Hotel in Hazard, Ky. He was a well-loved and highly respected citizen of West Point, Ky., a town that he has resided in for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Mason Tutt, three married daughters, Louise, Jean and Ruth; two stepchildren, Mrs. Cecil Skidmore, Cynthiana, and E.Y. Mason, West Point, and one half-sister, Mrs. Bessie Hanks of Campton and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. His was a life of kindness. His pleasing smiles and kind words will long be remembered by those who knew him. My he forever rest in peace. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Porter and Son Funeral Home in Campton. He as laid to rest in the Rocky Branch Cemetery in Wolfe County, Ky. Carole
