Wolfe County News - Aug. 8, 1969 CAMPTON GROCER ELZA MAYABB IS KILLED IN WRECK Mrs. Mayabb Critical After Collision at W. Liberty Last Night A two-car collision on KY 7 at West Liberty last night claimed the life of a well-known Campton grocer, Elza Mayabb, about 48, and critically injured his wife, Mrs. Wanda Gevedon Mayabb, who was listed in "very critical" condition this morning at University Medical Center, Lexington. Marlin Frederick, about 17, of West Liberty, sole occupant of the other car, was also listed in serious condition at the same hospital. Morgan County Coroner A.J. Herald said Mr. Mayabb died instantly of a broken neck and head injuries. Mrs. Mayabb suffered severe head and internal injuries and multiple cuts and abrasions. The accident occurred about 10:35 p.m. as the Mayabbs were returning to Campton from Spencer Clinic north of West Liberty, where they had gone after attending church services here to visit a niece who had given birth to a child. The collision occurred directly in front of the former bowling lanes building at the northern edge of West Liberty. The body is at Porter and Son Funeral Home where arrangements are incomplete, pending arrival of family members from Mrs. Mayabb's bedside. Carole
