May 20 at the Lee County Nursing Home. Mr. Spencer was the son of the late Osa Spencer and Dora Tolson Spencer. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a native of Wolfe County, laborer and farmer. Surviving are his wife; Grace Hollon Spencer, Quillens Chapel, One son: Jimmy Spencer, Newport. Four daughters; Verna Banks, Pine Ridge; Wanda Carmen, Cincinnati, Ohio; Virginia Wagner, Cincinnati, Ohio; Pauline Corsmeire, Phoenix, Arizona. Seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren. One brother, Corsie Spencer, Callaboose. One half brother; Elzie Spencer, Springfield, Ohio. Two half-sisters: Elsie Spencer, Tar Ridge: Malba Vancleve, Jeffersonville. Burial was in the Spencer Cemetery, Quillens Chapel, with Porter and Son Funeral Home, Campton, in charge of arrangements.
