I also am looking for Elams. My Father-in-law was Billie K Elam. His father was Dewey Elam who married Dema Mae Miller. She was from Lee City. Dewey had a sister Nancy and a brother Irvin and a brother Clinton. Dewey and Demi had 3 children, Billie K, Oliva and Vivian. Dewey worked the coal mines around Hazard and moved to Cincinnati when Billie was about 7. He passed of Black Lung. Demi remarried a few times. She finally passed in a nursing home in Indiana of Cancer. Her daughter Vivian lives in Indiana today. Billie K passed of cancer also. I've been trying to find more family members. I remember Bill talking about a cousin KC Elam but I never met him. I heard he was a big man. Bill told us when he was young and lived in Kentucky ( believe he was born on Lots Creek) He said they called his Father (Dewey) Long Heal. I'd love to share information. This is so interesting. My husband and I visit Wolfe County, Gorge area several times a year and just l! ove it. Do you know where Duane Mountain is down there? Somewhere close to Lots Creek?
