James-- In answer to your question about the Halseys and the Swangos, I found a number of Halseys listed in the index of the latest Swango book. The connection here seems to come from JULIA Caroline Swango. (1865-1918) She was the dau. of Stephen Swango, son of Geo. Washington Swango, etc. Julia married Zechriah Halsey(1862-1923) in Wolfe Co. KY.They had five children. I have further info on all five. Julia and Zechriah ran a general store at Valeria in Wolfe Co. until 1902 when they moved to western MO. All five children were born in Wolfe Co., KY. If this rings any bells, let me know and I can give you more info about their children, grandchildren --etc. Bess
Another Halsey/Swango was: William Washington Swango (1861-1919) married Telitha (or possibly Tabitha) E Halsey (1866-1900) of Falling Water, Wolfe Co., Ky. William Washington was the brother of Julia Swango, and Telitha/Tabitha was a sister of Zachariah. Telitha and Zachariah's parents were James H Halsey and Mahala Brown. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bess Rose Miller" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, May 18, 2007 3:45 PM Subject: Re: [KYWOLFE] Swango Obit > James-- > > In answer to your question about the Halseys and the Swangos, I found a > number of Halseys listed in the index of the latest Swango book.
