Jane, They are not listed in the Wolfe Co. marriages I have. I have some Morgan Co. marriages and they are not there either. But having seen the films of those marriages, it would be difficult to get them all. The pages were in bad shape and some could not be read at all. Cora, I bought them years ago from Pat Horne. I'll check with her to see if she might still have any. It is 3 separate booklets with a few records from 1861, and 1874 to 1878 and 1903 and 1909. There really isn't many records for Wolfe Co. because of the courthouse fires. I just found out that one of my Shackleford guys Named "Green Henry " Shackleford was living in Texas in 1920 He had been living in arkansas and was there in 1910 and he died in Mesa arizona in 1927 I wonder why he was only one to venture off to texas and arizona? It seems crazy. Are you related to "John Little" that has a antique shop in or around Harrison ark? he is a wealth of knowledge and found about him through a cousin on my pat. side Shackleford/Little is on my mat. side. cora

Norma, My GG Grandmother, Francis Elizabeth Nickell [she went by Elizabeth or Lizzie] was a sister to Francis Nickell who married Stanly Shackelford. My Elizabeth Nickell born in 1841 was an older sister to Francis Nickell mentioned here. My Elizabeth married Greenville T. Little also from Morgan or Wolfe Co. Ky. and I have not been able to find a marriage record for them. In the census of 1860 my Elizabeth was still living with her parents, John B. Nickell and mother Elizabeth but she and Greenville T. Little had their first child, John Miles Little in 1861 so I am assuming that they married sometime in 1860. By chance can you find their marriage date or a record of it somewhere? She was also preceded in death by her mother and father, Esther and Ben Dunn; brothers, Arnold, Randall, Ralph, and Willie; and sister, Gladys Stamper. Also preceding her was close friend, John Pohl. Marie is survived by her daughter, Faye Webb, and son and daughter-in-law Kenny and Susie Gibbs; grandchildren, Jenny (Don) Lewis, Kim (DeWayne) Hall, Roy (Jamie) Webb, Travis (Cathi) Gibbs; great grandchildren, Josh and Justin Lewis, Travis and Kourtni Hall, Mallory and Braydon Webb, and Makayla and Tyus Gibbs; sisters, Christine Rose, Wanda (Drexel) Shockey, Billie (Melvin) Lindon, and brother, Russell (Bernice) Dunn; and many nieces and nephews. Marie will be greatly missed by her good friends Mary Edwards and Mary Zornes, Patsy Copeland, Matthew Allred, Ruthie Bell and many others, and loving neighbors, Pat and John. She retired from Inland Div. of GM with 30 + years of service. Marie served many years, helping her husband in his work as pastor of North Dayton First Church of God. Marie, who often said she would live till she died and not one minute longer was "paid up, prayed up and ready to go" and is now rejoicing with her many loved ones. One of her favorite sayings was, "It's a good night here but a beautiful morning over there!" We on earth will cherish her memories, quick wit, sense of humor, positive outlook, and her love of family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Mullapudi, Dr. Romer, and the Miami Valley Hospital staff for their loving care. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Ave., Dayton, OH, with Rev. Tim Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Oh no. I knew them. Roy is kin to us. I visited their church one time. He saw me sitting towards the back, and after the service, it was so crowded he couldn't get back to me, so he started stepping across the pews, until he reached me. Grandma always went to his church. Thanks for sharing your website. I read the info about Andrew Jackson Hollon with great interest. A.J. Hollon sold land to my gggrandfather Granville Allen on Sept. 18, 1875 on Big Branch in Wolfe County. This must be some of the land he sold when he decided to travel to Texas. I noticed your info on Molly Allen and John Faulkner and want to make a correction to this. John married 1) Molly Allen who died about 1923 and he married second to Grace Napier in 1931. Molly was a daughter of the above Granville Allen and Salina Bailey Allen. Thanks, Carole -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Timothy J. Carole, Do you live in Wolfe Co. Ky? I have a cousin that's in the nursing home there. I don't know her married name. She was hit by a car, while working in her yard, is paralized from the neck down. She has lots of pics and I'd love to find someone that knows her well enough that she'd let them copy them. She is Golden Combs dau. or granddau. I forget which. Don't remember who Golden md. either, but the lady in the nursing home in Campton, is named Goldie too.
