He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dulley Taulbee, Mary, and two daughters, Mrs. Vic Allen, Campton, Mrs. Nellie Hewitt, Sarasota, Fla., and four sons, Lee Taulbee, Joe and Fred, all of Muncie, Ind. and Bill of Campton, one brother, Lewis Taulbee, Beattyville, three sisters, Mrs. Lyda Taulbee, Mary, Mrs. Susan Bach, Winchester and Mrs. Florence Lentes, Vada. He was a rural mail carrier for 37 years and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Funeral was held at the residence at Mary, Tuesday, April 24, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Onee Banks and Rev. C.E. Richards officiating. Burial was in the Evans Cemetery with Hearne Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired farmer and merchant. Her husband, Lee Taulbee, who was driving was critically injured and is in the hospital there. He is a brother of Luther Taulbee of Mary, KY and Price Taulbee of Wolfe County, Jack Taulbee of Middletown, Ohio and Charlie Taulbee of Dayton, Luther has gone to be at his brother's bedside. Miller, Minorsville; and four sons, Jeff, Joseph, William S. and James H. Miller, all of Newport; and two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Creech, North Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. Cinda Gosney, Newport; two brothers, Howard and Joseph B. Miller, Baptist and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Combs, and Miss Ellie Miller, Baptist, Mrs. Maud Cullens, Landsaw, Mrs. Callie Little, Gillmore; Mrs. Minnie Swope, Slade; Mrs. Fern Carroll, McClainsboro, ILL; also four-stepsons and four-step daughters. Wolfe Cunty News - Aug. 22, 1956 WOLFE NATIVE DIES IN PATH OF LOCOMOTIVE Mrs. Lillie Bailey, 56, died as a result of injuries received when she ran in front of the George Washington train in Lexington, Friday, August 10th while apparently attempting to rescue a fox terrier dog. William L. Bailey, husband of the accident victim, says she had left the house only a few minutes prior to the accident to take the pet dog for a walk. The accident occurred about 75 yards west of the Lisle Road near the stockyards. E.P. Huffman, conductor on the train, said he had no chance to stop the train before it struck her. Funeral services were conducted in Lexington. Mrs. Bailey was a native of Wolfe County and is widely related here. Carole

Rose and Elizabeth Swango Rose died at his home at Buena Vista, KY., on Tuesday, August 14th. He had been ill for along time. He was a retired stock dealer and business man of Lexington. He was a member of the Arlington Christian Church. He was a past president of the Hazel Green Academy Former Students Association and the only president who was unable to attend the annual Homecoming this year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Jewel Rose, Buena Vista; two daughters, Mrs. Maurine Robinson, Lexington; and Mrs. Mildred Rappert, Lexington; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Carrie Mize, Hazel Green; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted in Lexington, Thursday, August 16th by the pastor of his church and burial was in the Winchester Cemetery by the side of an infant son. Caesar Hurst, 78, of Lexington, a retired business man, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospital fert a long illness. He was a native of Stillwater, Wolfe County, and a son of the late William L. and Isabella Duff Hurst. He attended Wolfe County schools and Waddy College, Shelby County. He was a dealer in lumber and coal and operator of a farm in Breathitt County for many years. He also practiced law in Wolfe County. He had lived in Lexington for 36 years, and was an organizer and past president of Hillcrest Memorial Park. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. June Hatton Hurst; an aunt, Mrs. Georgia Arnold, Claremore, Oklahoma; three nieces, Mrs. W. Guy Bush, Mrs. Robert Goodwin and Mrs. Rowlett Giles; and two nephews, Charles Sebastian and Jennings Amerine, all of Lexington. Mr. and Mrs. Brewer had gone to Middletown, a month prior to his death to make thier home for the winter with their daughter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Cockerham Brewer, three sons, Arnold, Arthur and Dorsey Brewer, all of Middletown, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Ava James, Dry Ridge; Mrs. Odra Wallace, Seven Mile, Ohio; and Mrs. Junie Porfitt, Middletown, Ohio, with whom they are living. Wolfe County News - April 19, 1950 MANDA HAYS LAWSON DIED ON APRIL 8 Mrs. Manda Hays Lawson, daughter of the late Don/Dan and Elizabeth Dennis Hays was born April 15, 1868 and departed this life on April 8, 1950. Had she lived another week she would have celebrated her 82nd birthday. She was brought up in the Baptist Church. On September 7, 1888, she was united in marriage with John Lawson and to their union were born ten children, seven of whom survive. Surviving children are Lavenna Manning, Big Woods; Emma Mays, Murphy Fork, Lige Lawson, Ezel; Lula Lawson, Middletown, Ohio; Randie Moore, Hazel Green; Callie Moore, Hazel Green and Inez Stigall, Hamilton, OHio. She is also survived by 54 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, one sister, Belle Lawson, Big Woods, and a brother, Sam Lawson, Dan. The three children who preceded her in death were Gertrud Barnett, Alva Lawson and Lafe Lawson. Carole
