    3. Obits are copied as near as I can read them. As most of you know we can't change printed items, obits, death, birth certificates, census, etc. fifty years after they are written, but we can make notes and SHARE the corrections and additions. Now that everyone has had time to switch to Digest Mode, Diane and Joan have had some time to catch up and I've had time to spend in the Library. Lets Roll. Carole Thanks Diane for this suggestion and hope you are feeling better.

Everybody is different in what they want to read. We do want to be polite and courteous to everybody. I need all the information I can get for my family. 3. Hi, I'm trying to find the father of Taylor Brewer who married Maudie Ethel O'Hair. Ethel is the daughter of Tom and Victoria Hager O'Hair. She recently died, and [I think] was buried Wed. Oct. 23, 2002. Her grand-daughter, who doesn't have internet access, asked me to see if I could find any information on her Brewer relations. Any help appreciated. She's not even certain that his first name was Taylor, she just remembers her grandmother talking about him and thought that was what his name was. Apparently they lived in Stanton. [Maudie] Ethel O'Hair Brewer has family buried at Stamper Branch, where-ever that is, she said. Thanks for any help with this. Shirley

    3. Hi, This is from the Hazel Green Herald, Oct. 6, 1886. Campton, Oct. 1 -- Died -- On the 30th inst., Francis, Wife of J. C. Lykins at 10 p.m. She had been confined to her bed for about two months. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her loss. Mrs. Lykins, was a member of the Methodist Church and died in the full triumph of faith. She will be buried tomorrow at Ezel, Morgan County. Bro. Lykins and family have the sympathy of the entire community. Lizzie Combs received a letter from her niece, Mollie Swango, stating that A. N. Swango, (brother of Mrs. Combs) who lives near charleston, Ill, was stricken with neuralgia of the heart and was unconscious for about 12 hours, but was then better and thought to be improving. Died - on the 19th ult., Mr. W. O. Whisman, of flux. this is the fourth death in the family, three of her children died of the same disease within the last six weeks. There is more sickness in the southern part of this county than ever was known. The following preachers were in attendance at the Annual Meeting receltly held here: Revs. J. I. Rogers, J. T. Pieratt, Leander Lacy and ____ Wise. Bro. J. I. Rogers did most of the preaching with which the brethern were very much edified. The Annual Meeting passed off quietly and althought no one joined the church the meeting resulted in much good. The services were all well attended and the audience well behaved and very attentive. Laura Tutt, daughter of Dr. J. F. Tutt, is dying at this writing. She has been confined to her bed all summer with scrofula and rheumatism. She has prayed often to be delivered from this body of pain. Dr. J. R. Hanks, from Louisiana, was visiting Uncle Cud Hanks last week. The Dr. made some eye medicine that benefitted Uncle Cud's eyes very much. He started for his home on the 30th ult. G. T. Center recently purchased a shingle machine and wil have it in operation soon. This will dispense with the use of the drawing knife and shaving horse in getting out shingles. Married -- On the 30th ult., W. J. Childers to Mrs. George Ann Allen at the residence of the birdes father, Joab Pence. Enjoy! 1. Re: [KYWOLFE-L] re-Rose Website
    2. Well hello Shirley! I'd LOVE to share our Rose family website, but to access it one needs to have an ID and password. It is a secured site sponsored by MyFamily.com. HOWEVER, to ANYONE who has Rose ties to John Rose, b. 1761 and Rebekah Bowen, b. 1763 (and most of the Roses from Wolfe and surrounding counties do), I'd be happy to send invitations to join the site. You will be sent an ID and password that you can change to your own liking. One thing we ask is that our family tree not be sent to outside entities just yet. We are in the process of making sure our information is correct since there is much misinformation about our Rose family that has already been distributed to the world. Also, if you'd be so kind to give us your Rose connection, how you descend from John & Rebekah, it would help us get to know you better! Gail (Rose) Berish P.S. Shirley, your invitation to the Rose family's website is on it's way! 3. From the Hazel Green Herald - May 18, 1887 There are several cases of measles in town. Oscar Hall, the brick mason and boss joker of Hazel Green is here in twon helping to build S. S. Combs' brick hotel. Granville Bailey, our boss miller is very low with measles. T. J. Cornelison of Richmond, Ky. was in town a few days since looking after the title of some land. J. A. Hobbs, Toledo, Ohio, J. j. Tipton, of Irvine, W. J. Fields, Letcher County, John Daniel, Clark County, and Berry Wheeler and John S. Hollingsworth, Zanesville, Ohio and Charles Turner, Mt. Sterling were guests of the Campton House this week. M. Hollingsworth and Mr. Wheeler were looking after the title of some land which they were about purchasing. The land belonged to the old Reynolds patent. They decided before leaving not to invest. Mrs. John. B. Williams of this place, has been quite ill for a time, but at the present writing is much improved. Gov. Knott offers a reward of $200 for Isaac Strickland of Morgan County, charged with a heinous crime and he should be brought to justice. The Govenor has also offered a reward of $200 for the arrest of Millard F. Gunn, charged with the murder of Lycurgas Kincaid of Lee County; also $400 for the arrest of Tom Gullett and Buz Gullett charged with murder in Magoffin county. Here is a chance for some enterprising man to rake in $500 and be doing the country great service at the same time. John Ward of the Cox Mill neighborhood, a few days ago sent us several small pieces of rock taken from the farm of George Clark, which are rich in mineral of some kind. Under a magnifrying glass of 110deg., the specimens examined appear very rich in both silver and gold or what seems so. One piece, especally, attracted our attention. Throwing the shadow of the microscope mirror upon, a bright yellow fringed with a deep mellow blue met our gaze. Are they perodolites? Which alarms and saddens me because I do not want anyone to lose out on the wonderful information comning through this list!! If you are recieving each and every email that is sent through the list,( one at a time ) then you are subscribed in regular mode ( kywolfe-L ) Almost ALL of you are!! BUT... there is a option you can choose so you will only recieve all the emails sent in a 12 hour period to the list in ONE email !! Oh yes !! It is called DIGEST MODE.... all you have to do is unsubscribe to the regular mode & RESUBSCRIBE in digest mode !! As simple as that the clutter in your mailbox is reduced !! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ To unsubscribe from regular mode send a email to.. KYWOLFE-L-request@rootsweb.com put only the word unsubscribe in the subject & body of the emails..nothing else! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ To Subscribe to digest mode send a email to.. KYWOLFE-D-request@rootsweb.com put only the word subscribe in the subject & body of the emails..nothing else! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ That is all you have to do !!
