He was a native of Breathitt County and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Townsend Trent; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Banks and Miss Mattie Sue Trent, Clark County; a son, Isaac Trent, Clark County; a brother, Hewey Trent, Wolfe County, and four sisters, Mrs. Lenvil Bush of Franklin, Ohio, Mrs. Mattie Bowman of Cincinnati, Mrs. Eve Cable of Zachariah, Mrs. Fern Edwards of Indiana. Services conducted at 11 a.m. July 14 at the Pine Hill Baptist Church in Wolfe County. Burial in the Trent Cemetery, Wolfe County. The body was taken from the Scobee Funeral Home to the residence. Wolfe County News - Nov. 17, 1965 H.H. HOLLON, 74, DIES IN FLORIDA H.H. (Hager) Hollon, 74, resident of Daytona Beach, Fla., and native of Helechawa died at 4:05 a.m. Monday, November 8 in Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beech, following a heart attack. He was a member of the Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and Oleika Shrine of Lexington. He was a son of the late John B. Hollon and Gilla Ann Wilson Hollon. He is survived by his wife, Alma C. Hollon of Daytona Beech; two sons, John B. Hollon of Daytona Beech and Robert W. Hollon of Tampa; four daughters, Mrs. Norma Jean Blachel of Lapelle, Florida; Mrs. Liman? Raphael of Winter Park, Florida, Mrs. Dorothy Madden of Jacksonville, Florida, and Mrs. Darlene Riley of Daytona Beach, Florida. Also surviving are one brother, Lucien Hollon of Lebanon, Ohio, and five sisters, Mrs. Bess Gullett of Helechawa, Mrs. Betty Nickell of Noleomia, Florida, Mrs. Ann Hendrich of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Georgia Haley and Mrs Minnie Strickland, both of Lebanon, Ohio. Wolfe County News - Oct. 6, 1965 ANDREW BUSH, 66 CLAIMED IN OHIO Andrew Bush, 66, died at General Hospital, Cincinnati, after an illness of four weeks. A native of Wolfe County, he was a retired crane operator for Interlope Steel Corp., Newport, Ky. He had lived at 149 Mason St., Cincinnati, for several years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Goldie Bush; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Popp, Cold Springs, Ky; and Mrs. Ruth Seabolt of Alexandria; three sons, Edwin Bush of Middletown, Ohio, Eldon Bush of Cold Springs, and Vernon Bush of Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Jesse Spencer, Pittsburg, Pa., Mrs. Charlie Lindon of Mt. He was a native of Wolfe County and had lived in Ohio about 40 years. He was a veteran of World War I and a dealer in real estate. Surviving are two brothers, Pierce King of Versailles, Ind., and Wick King, Middletown, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Nell Begley, McRoberts. Wolfe County News - Sept. 15, 1965 ORVILLE MAYABB PASSES SEPT. 4TH Orville Mayabb, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 4 at Middletown Hospital, Ohio after a long illness. A native of Morgan County, he had lived at Lee City, Wolfe County, before moving to Ohio. He had been employed at American Rolling Mills for 41 years. Mrs. Bailey was born in Campton and was a resident of Middletown 25 years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Her husband, Daniel died in 1937. COX DIES ON DEC. 14 Mrs. Sarah Margaret Cox, 79, life-long resident of Lee and Wolfe Counties, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maude Millich of Neon, after along illness. She had been a member of the Pine Hill Regular Baptist Church, Wolfe County, for 60 years. Other survivors are her husband, Mose L. Cox, four sons, W.B. Cox, Hazard, Sherman Cox of Owensboro, James Cox, Jackson, Ohio, and Shirley Cox of Beattyville; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Harrington of Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Cora Collier of Chicago, Ill, 28 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the First Church of God at Neon on Thursday by Rev. Paul Floyd, Rev. Carl Profitt and Rev. Edd Creech. Burial was in the family cemetery on Big Andy Ridge. Wolfe County News - Sept. 8, 1965 WOLFE NATIVE DIES AUG. 30 James P. Alexander, 73 year old resident of 1312 Tenth Street in Lawrenceville, Illinois died in Lawrenceville County Memorial Hospital about 12:50 Monday morning, Aug. 30. He had been in ill health for quite sometime. The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Dr. C.H. Todd and Rev. Gerald Gulley officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceville Cemetery. Born in Wolfe County, KY., October 24, 1891, he was the son of S.C. and Mary Alexander. He was married to Virginia Leslie May and came to Lawrenceville in 1913. (could be 1918) Survivors include the wife; two sons, James P. Alexander, Jr., of Springfield, Ill, and Wilfred Alexander of Lyon Haven, Fla., two brothers, J.E. Alexander of Lawenceville and William Alexander, of Lebanon, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Alexander was a well known businnessman and political figure in Lawrenceville and the surrounding area. He owned and operated a grocery and general merchandise store on the corner of Ninth and Carsy? Streets for 46 years. He was actively engaged in the politics of the Demorcratic party for many years and was elected mayor of Lawrenceville for three terms. He was also active in the affairs of the community having served as a member of the school board and was a past member of the Methodist Church board. Carole

Wolfe County News - June 18, 1958 LENGTHY ILLNESS CLAIMS LIFE OF WILLIE L. DAY Willie Lee Day died at the home of his daughter, Miss Beatrice Inez Day, Thursday morning, june 12, after a long illness. He was born in Campton, Wolfe County Kentucky, August 11, 1873, the son of Frederick Newington and Zarilda Wills Day. He was the oldest of eight children, all have preceded him in death. Only one sister, Mrs. William Everet Bach survives him. Mr. Day was a retried hardware merchant, and an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church, in Mt. Sterling since 1941. He was a member of the Kentucky Mountain Club and Oleka Temple Shrine, Lexington; a Knight Templar and a Scottish Rite Mason. A member of the Former Students Association of Hazel Green Academy, he attended Hazel Green Academy from 1882 to 1892. Among his immediate survivors are his daughter, Miss Inez Day, of Mt. Sterling, and his only sister, Mrs. Wm. Everett Bach, Lexington. His funeral was held at the Eastin-Richey Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, with Rev. George S. Thompson of Stanford, assisted by Rev. John Norton Williams, pastor of the first Christian Church, conducting service. Burial in the Day family lot in the Macpelah Cemetery. Carole
