Wolfe County News - Jan. 4, 1967 MARTIN TAULBEE DIED DEC. 30TH John Martin Taulbee, 74 of West Liberty, a retired mail carrier, died at approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at his residence here. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a native of Wolfe County. Son of Martin Taulbee, he was born March 8, 1892. His wife preceded him in death. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ora Postma, and Mrs. Rosa Gibson, both of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Lula Smith of West Liberty and Mrs. Bula Smith of Grassy Creek; two sons, Elbert Taulbee and John Taulbee, both of Paris; one brother, Clint Taulbee of Campton; 34 grandchildren and 89 great grandchildren. Service was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Herald and Stewart Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Arlie Nickll and Green Ratliff. Burial in Grassy Lick cemetery under direction of Herald and Stewart. Carole

Wolfe County News - March 10, 1967 HAZEL GREEN MAN, 75, DIES Services for Eddie Clifton Stamper, 75, of Hazel Green, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hazel Green Methodist Church by the Rev. Clell Miller. Burial was in the Hazel Green Cemetery. Mr. Stamper died en route to a Lexington Hospital Wednesday morning. He was a native of Wolfe County and a member of the Baptist Church.     3. Wolfe County News - Aug. 4, 1967 CARL E. ROGERS DIES SATURDAY Carl E. Rogers, 72, of 425 Park Avenue, died at 6:20 a.m. Satruday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born in Wolfe County, he was a son of the late George M. and Rossia Horton Martin. He was a former employee of the Harvey Coal Company, Harveyton, where he worked for 25 years, and the Blue Grass Ordinance Depot, Richmond where he was employed for 18 years before he retired in 1963. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, and Masonic Lodge No 676, F&AM. Hazard. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Millie Hagins Rogers, Lexington; three sons, Charles E. Rogers, Bowling Green, Carl F. Rogers, Hazard, and George L. Rogers, Lexington; a daughter Mrs. J.W. Lacy, 51, of Benton Harbor, Mich. and a native of Morgan county, died May 31 in the Veterans Hospital in Cincinnai. Mr. Lacy and his wife, Ottamae Combs, opereated a motel in Benton Harbor. They chose the Cincinnati hospital in order to be near his daughter. During his boyhood he resides for some time at Irvine, Ky, with a sister, Mrs. Tennie Frisby, but was a native of Morgan County. Funeral was at Sharonville, Ohio.     3. Hi Carole, Thanks for the obit on Silas Ratliff. Would anyone know if his wife was Emma or Emily? I have a Emily that married a Ratliff but didn't know his first name. It might be Silas. Especially since he was buried in the Carson cemetery. A lot of my Lacys are buried in the Lacy-Carson cemetery. Thanks for the posting!!! Carolyn

A Breathitt County native, she was a daughter of the late Weed and Amanda Dickey. Besides her husband, she is survived by six sons, Dewan Kilburn, Charles Atkinson, Robert Weed Atkinson, Roger Neal Atkinson, Cecil Gene Atkinson, and Kenny Atkinson, Lexington. The body was taken to Kerr Brothers Funeral Home and then to the Porter Funeral Home in Campton. He was a resident of Pomeroyton and a member of the Church of God and the Masonic Lodge of Maytown F&AM. He was a native of Menifee County.
