    3. Wolfe County News - April 26, 1974 WOLFE NATIVE PASSES IN LEX. Mrs. Lula Naomi Lykins Hager passed away last Thursday evening, April 18, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was a native of Wolfe County, a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Lula Robertson Lykins and the widow of the late Otis B. Hager, she was a member of the Northern Heights Christian Church of Lexington. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Richard Lacy of Farmersville, Ohio; Mrs. Earl Spigle with whom she made her home, Mrs. Everett Blount of New Carlisle, Ohio and Mrs. Randy Lowellen of Frankfort; four sons, Otis B. Hager of Annapolis, Maryland; Joseph S. and Robert C. Hager both of Lexington; Norman Hager of Erlanger, one sister, Mrs. E.E. Wallace of Lexington; 18 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Aaron Smith Funeral Home on Monday by Rev. Ray Russell officiating. Burial in the Lexington Cemetery. Carole

Wolfe County News - June 1961 GEORGE HOLT DIES IN CAMPTON 17TH George Holt, a prominent retired business man of Campton, died at his home here at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, June 17, after a long illness. He was 82 years of age, a native of Boyle County, a member of the Campton Methodist Church, a former president of the Farmers and Traders Bank, and a charter member of the Wolfe County Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Childress Holt, Campton and three sons, William Holt, Winchester and Edwin Holt, Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Campton Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Burton officiating. Burial was in charge of Shackelford and Cox Funeral Home Campton, in Evans Cemetery. Carole Note; Only two sons were given in obit.

Leece, age 87, of Hanover Township, passed away at Oxford View Nursing Center on Thursday, January 2, 2003, at 12:40 a.m. She was born in Estill County, Kentucky, on November 24, 1915, the daughter of Herman and Sarah Green (Patrick) Estes. On September 6, 1944, in Cincinnati, she married John C. Leece, who preceded her in death in 1998. Georgia enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking for her family, when her health permitted. She was a very loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother, who is survived by three children, Dennis Conrad and his wife Janet of Oxford, Norma Kelly of Charleston, Illinois and Harley “Bud” Conrad and his wife Jerri of Hamilton; two step-sons, Vernon Leece and his wife Nannie and John Leece and his wife Linda, both of Hamilton; twelve grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Denise, Mona, Mike, Tim, Danny, Steve, Bobby, John David, Sherry, Shelly and Sandy; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Allie, Coleman, Price, Hubert, Elby, James, and Clarence Estes; and one sister, Agnes Estes Knox. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, January 4, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William C. Brantingham, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was a native and life-long resident of Wolfe County and attended the Church of God.     3. Wolfe County News - Aug. 8, 1969 CAMPTON GROCER ELZA MAYABB IS KILLED IN WRECK Mrs. Mayabb Critical After Collision at W. Liberty Last Night A two-car collision on KY 7 at West Liberty last night claimed the life of a well-known Campton grocer, Elza Mayabb, about 48, and critically injured his wife, Mrs. Wanda Gevedon Mayabb, who was listed in "very critical" condition this morning at University Medical Center, Lexington. Marlin Frederick, about 17, of West Liberty, sole occupant of the other car, was also listed in serious condition at the same hospital. Morgan County Coroner A.J. Herald said Mr. Mayabb died instantly of a broken neck and head injuries. Mrs. Mayabb suffered severe head and internal injuries and multiple cuts and abrasions. The accident occurred about 10:35 p.m. as the Mayabbs were returning to Campton from Spencer Clinic north of West Liberty, where they had gone after attending church services here to visit a niece who had given birth to a child. The collision occurred directly in front of the former bowling lanes building at the northern edge of West Liberty. The body is at Porter and Son Funeral Home where arrangements are incomplete, pending arrival of family members from Mrs. Mayabb's bedside. Carole

She was a native of Morgan County and the widow of Clarence Russell. Mr. and Mrs. Russell spent most of their lives in Wolfe County. They owned property and reared their family on Baptist Fork before moving to Salt Lick. A native of Wolfe County, he had lived in the Campton area many years before going to Ohio.
