Wolfe County News - Nov. 19, 1971 CURT BYRD, 84, FORMER WOLFE SHERIFF DIES George Curtis Byrd, 84, husband of Mrs. Jennie Byrd, died Sunday, Nov. 14, in the Middletown, Ohio Hospital, where he was admitted Sept. 1. He was a former sheriff of Wolfe County, and a 60 -year member of the Hazel Green Masonic Lodge No. 507. He was retired, and had lived in Ohio for the past few years. Other survivors include five sons, Clinton Byrd and Chester Byrd, of Middletown, Ohio, Leslie Byrd of Cincinnati, Froy Bryd, Dayton, Ohio, and Fred Byrd, Lebanon, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. India Murray, Mrs. Virginia McMann, and Mrs. Betty Johnson, all of Middletown, Ohio, and Mrs. Delores Kash, Beattyville; twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
