It has come to my attention that I previously had the man on the left in this photo incorrectly identified. http://timbarron.net/familytree/d00010-03d-william_hollon_and_james_buchanan_hollon.jpg The man on the right is James Buchanan Hollon, who is my second great grandfather. Previously, I thought the man on the left was his brother, John D. Hollon. That is incorrect. The man on the left is actually one of his other brothers, William Hollon. I’ve updated the annotations of the photo on my website, as well as my data on Ancestry.com. As others may have the photo in their data, I wanted to send out this “correction.” Timothy J. Ms. Ferguson, I haven't noted an answer to your inquiry. Here's a try. There are a number of Ruth Pelfrey's in the Wolfe-Breathitt-Morgan area. However, if my math is close, this Ruth (b. 26 Sept 1919 in Breathitt) is the daughter of Daniel Boone Pelfrey and his first wife, Flora Brown. They lived near the Breathitt-Wolfe County line (per the message below) . Like most of the Pelfrey's in this area, Alissa's lineage can probably be traced to William Pelfrey. Last week, a young lady, Alissa contacted me regarding her Stamper lineage. (William Russell Byrd and Mary Ann 'Polly' Stamper). Her parents were William D Tibbs and Judy Ann Agee. Judy's parents were Bob Agee and Ruth Pelfrey. Alissa has a sister, Donna. Alissa says their connections are in Breathitt / Wolfe Counties. An interesting tidbit found in an early 1900's Powell County paper... Dr Bill Rice <<<<An Old Bible>>>> Probably the oldest bible in Kentucky is in the procession of a Wolfe County man. The bible in question was brought from Holland by settlers to this country in 1640.
