McQUINN, Seldon F. age 82, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born May 30, 1929 in Pine Ridge, Kentucky and moved to Middletown as a teenager. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was employed in the Zinc Grip Department at Armco Steel, retiring in 1992. Seldon was a member of the American Legion Post 218 and attended the Towne Blvd. Church of God. Preceding him in death were his parents, French and Lizzie Lou (Brewer) McQuinn; one son, Seldon F. McQuinn, Jr.; and one brother, William Cecil McQuinn. He is survived by the mother of his children and his caretaker, Violet McQuinn; three children, Linda Ashley and husband Rannie, Heath McQuinn, and Heather Glaize and husband Dale; his daughter-in-law, Teresa McQuinn; five grandchildren, Joshua McQuinn, Melissa Turner and husband Steven, Victoria Ashley, Haley McQuinn and Linzie Glaize; two great granddaughters, Lydia Grace Turner and Julia Faith Turner; one sister, Beulah Vest and husband Vernon; special cousin, Tom Brewer; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. SMITH, Kenneth William age 68 of Ross Township passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Middletown on May 15, 1943 the son of William F. and Oretta (Whisman) Smith. He was united in marriage to Julie (Menzer) Smith on May 27, 2000. Ken was a 1961 graduate of Middletown High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Ken was a founding partner and CEO of Smith, Stevens & Young, Inc. Architects and Engineers (formerly A-E Design Associates) and was most recently employed by Industrial Developments International as Senior Vice-President and Regional Development Officer. He was currently serving as Chairman of Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre, where he was active in the purchase and renovation of the former Palace Theatre as GHCT's new home. Ken was a loving and devoted family man who enjoyed shooting sports, travel, the great outdoors, photography, and classic cars. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Julie (Menzer) Smith; children, Brian (Julie) Smith of Ross Township, Angela Amoruso of El Paso, Texas, and Jared Smith of Garner, North Carolina; stepchildren, Scott Lickert and Stacy Lickert, both of Ross Township; and six grandchildren, Ian Smith, Zane Smith, both of Ross Township, Drew Smith, Madison Amoruso, Hunter Amoruso, and Greyson Amoruso, all of El Paso, Texas.
