The Whitley Republican, Thursday , April 30, 1942 Williamsburg, KY Former Miner Dies At Home in Packard John Preston, 70, retired coal miner, died Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home at Packard. He was in the employ of the Packard Coal Company for 35 years. Survivors include a son, Pascal Preston; two nephews, Theodore Wallace and Raymond Wallace; a niece, Mabel Wallace. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Packard Baptist Church, with Rev. Preston Gordon conducting. Interment was in the Polly Cemetery by the Pennington Funeral Home of Williamsburg.
