Hello. I'm looking for information on my great-great grandfather, William Laws. He married Mary (Molly) Ellison in Williamsburg in 1867. William and Molly are buried in the Old Baptist Church cemetery in Old Wolf Creek. The tombstone apparently gives William's D.O.D. as 7/7/1922 but I can not find a record of where he died to get a death certificate. I am looking for information about William's parents and grandparents. I have been told that his parents were James Laws and Lizzie Powell but I have no confirmation of this. I have also been told that James was the child of Mary Laws and a Kels Rose, for whom Mary worked. Mary may have been the daughter of a Joseph Laws of Murphy, North Carolina. Any information on William or Molly would be very helpful. William and Molly's children were: Olive Josephine (married William (Bud) Moses), Mattison (Matt) Powell Laws, Mary Frances (married a Witt), John Melton (Melt) married Polly Moses (my great grandparents) and Melinda Alifair (Sis).
