There was a thread on the Whitley list recently about street and route name changes. When I made a quick trip to Laurel County recently I noticed that the Daniel Boone Parkway is now the Hal somebody-or-other parkway. Every marker says "Hal Somebody Parkway, formerly Daniel Boone Parkway." Who is Hal Somebody? And who had to pay for all the signage changes? Pat H.

"Hal Somebody are other" is what he will be known as in future generations. He is a congressman, well paid for his hard work in getting grants.After over 200 years Daniel Boone is still a well known man who blaze trails through Kentucky.I do not think getting grants will make a man remembered in future generations.
