Like I said before: >> Not as far as I know. The furthest back that I have reliable information on >> my Bennett line has them moving into Illinois in the mid 1830s. Do any of y'all know of a connection between the Whitley County Bennett families and the family of John Bennett and Rachel Lynch? John Bennett was supposedly born about 1780 in North Carolina, but I have no documentation of this. According to 1850 census data, Rachel (Lynch) Bennett was born about 1781 in Virginia. The family was in Tennessee by 1808 when their son Isaac Bennett was born. John Bennett supposedly died about 1831. Isaac Bennett supposedly married Mary Duncan in White County, Tennessee, in 1834, but again I have not yet found any documentation. Isaac Bennett, his mother Rachel (Lynch) Bennett, and several of his brothers and their families migrated in the mid 1830s to McDonough and Hancock counties in Illinois. The family and their descendants mostly stayed in that general area for the next 100 years or so. Chuck Bennett
