    3. Lois and Mary, I think Chaudion is a variant spelling of Shadowen. The Chaudion spelling was on George Power's funeral home records. The info was given by George's son Benny Powers. I couldn't find any other families' records with that spelling, but in the 1850 census, residence number 2-399 was George Powers and wife Sarah. In residence 2-400 was Samuel and Ciller Shadowen who I suspect are Sarah's parents. In residence 2-396 are James and Sally Powers who are George's parents. The George Powers that came to Oklahoma was the s/o George and Sarah Powers. He married Rebecca Bennett. Several members of Rebecca Bennett's family also came to Oklahoma. Lois, I have a great deal on George and Rebecca's family, too much to send on the mail list. I would be glad to send it to you or anyone else who is interested individually. They lived in Cleveland county, Oklahoma where I live, so all the records are quite handy. In addition to the Powers and Bennetts from Whitley, I have info on James "Asbury" McKiddy, Greenberry Lawson (affiliated families are Petrey, Siler, Lambdin), several other Siler families, Rose, Smith, Faulkner and a few others. I found it's like an old time Whitley reunion here in Oklahoma.
