    3. Janet, I have a Nancy Harp (b. abt. 1812, d. 1882) who married William Tye (b.1807, d. aft.1887) in 1828. Her father's name was Benager Harp (b. 1794, d. 1863) and her mother's name was Jane Moody (b. 1794). Could she be related to the Levi and Nancy (Harp) Bennet you spoke of in the post below? Thanks, TJ I'm pretty sure that Levi & Nancy (Harp) Bennett only had 2 sons; Wm Bias and BenAger. I was wondering if the "other Amos" might have been one of the 3 sons of John Bennett. What happened to them? The other Bennett sons have been accounted for, but who were the three sons of John Bennett? As for the Reece on the 1850 Whitley County Census, I believe he was a Brummett and per Kathleen Stanfield Cook's "Index of 1850 Whitley County Kentucky Federal Census" Reece Brummett was married to Elizabeth Miller 3/5/1847 (?Knox Co). Guess that was a second marriage. As for the Rose girls who married Bennett boys; I probably should not have mentioned it as (I think) I only have the hardcopy record, by the late Glenn Johnson of California, stashed away in a box somewhere. I doubt that I had source information with it any way. From memory, it was regarding information on the Bennetts, Langstons, and Roses of Granville Co., NC and had to do with the Elizabeth Rose who married Edward Bennett. Seems like two of her sisters married Bennetts and one of them was named Amos/Amous. I do have a lot of information that I would like to share; it's just finding the time to do it! _________________________________________________________________ Get McAfee virus scanning and cleaning of incoming attachments. 3. Hi TJ, There was a close relationship of some sort between the Bennetts and Harps and I believe that Nancy Harp who mar Levi Bennett was a sister of Benager Harp b ca 1794 and I think they were both children of Tobias and Delilah Harp. These 2 Knox County, KY surveys were recorded on the same date and may help. The Amos Bennett listed is my ancestor born 1791. Knox Co., Ky, Jan 7th 1817 Surveyed for LEVI BENNETT Assee of JOSEPH PEACE, Assee of WILLIAM STEPHENSON, 50 acres - Ky. Land Office War #1200 dated Oct 3, 1816 on Middle Fork of Big Poplar Creek. OWEN RAGAN, AMOS BENNETT and LEVI BENNETT, Marker Knox Co.,Ky, Jan 7th 1817 Surveyed for BENNOGH HARP Assee of BENJ. BENNETT, Assee of JOSHUA ROSCOW, Assee of WM. STEPHENSON, 50 acres - Ky. Land Office War #1200 dated Oct 3, 1816 on Middle Fork of Big Poplar Creek. OWEN RAGAN, AMOS BENNETT and BENNOGH HARP. By the way, does anyone know anything about the Benj. Bennett or Joshua Roscow listed as Assee;s (Assignee's)? Might give a clue as to where our Bennetts came from.... Janet Foster
