    1. Re: [KYWHITLE] Whitley to Oklahoma Reynolds

    3. Jan, I hope this is your Reynolds because we've been looking for more info on this family. Elizabeth "Betty" Reynolds, a widow, in 1889 came to what would become Yukon, Canadian county, Oklahoma. She came with her daughter Samantha "Alice" Reynolds who had m. Josiah Smith in Jellico,TN 10-12-1886. Alice was b. 11-11-1867 in Lot, Whitley county. Her b. Joe Reynolds also lived with the Smiths in Oklahoma. There are several Smith, Siler and Faulkners who lived in this same area. Bios on some of the families were found in a book in the Canadian county Genealogical Library. I found Elizabeth Reynolds in the Whitley 1880 census as a 32 y/o widow with 6 children ages 3-12. I haven't been able to find out who the deceased father of this family was. I haven't any more info on what became of Joe Reynolds in later life. The other children in the 1880 census were Samuel age 11, George age 8, Marshall age 7, Susannah age 5. Samantha "Alice" was 12 and Joseph was 3. Elizabeth Reynolds 10-6-1848 to 10-15-1912 is buried at Frisco cemetery which is near Yukon, Oklahoma. I would sure appreciate hearing from anyone with any more info on this family. 1. Re: [KYWHITLE] James Siler--JAMES & BETSY LAWSON
    2. Evelyn This will not unconfuse you, but just rest assurred, I'm as confused as you. In a private email I'll send you an attachment about this family. It's not what I've been searching for, but until I find it, it'll do. For the list, this is what I found on the attachment I'm sending Evelyn, It doesn't give the date of James & Elizabeth "Betsy" Croley Lawson's marriage, but does give Henry's b as ca 1817. In here you notice is says Henry died in 1885 at the age of 68. I can't say if the person got the age by subtracting the 1817 from the death year of 1885, or if they had a death certificate. 229 i. Henry6 Lawson was born in Whitley Co., KY circa 1817. Henry died July 25, 1885 at 68 years of age. His body was interred in Elks Fork, Baptist Church, Campbell Co., TN. He married Sarah Rose September 27, 1841. The thing that has bothered me is Betsy was born in 1805. So many Lawsons wearing the same name has caused mass confusion. I can accept James getting married when he was about 17, but cannot accept Betsy being 12 years old. I'm still searching all these disk for the descendency chart. Wouldn't'cha have thought someone putting info on a disk would put more than just Lawson on a disk as a way of identifying the contents? There must be 15 of these disk for Lawson's alone. I could kick myself in the you know what......Lois > Lois, > > I need you to get me straightened out on something. They were parents of 11 children according to my records, youngest being Henry Newton CREEKMORE b.1-12-1808 who married Ann BLAKELY 1829 in Whitley Co. & were parents of 15, this being my Link to the family. I don't have descendants for all 15 of the children but I'm happy to share what data I have. Looking forward to hearing from you. 1. Re: [KYWHITLE] Chaudin

    3. Lois and Mary, I think Chaudion is a variant spelling of Shadowen. The Chaudion spelling was on George Power's funeral home records. The info was given by George's son Benny Powers. I couldn't find any other families' records with that spelling, but in the 1850 census, residence number 2-399 was George Powers and wife Sarah. In residence 2-400 was Samuel and Ciller Shadowen who I suspect are Sarah's parents. In residence 2-396 are James and Sally Powers who are George's parents. The George Powers that came to Oklahoma was the s/o George and Sarah Powers. He married Rebecca Bennett. Several members of Rebecca Bennett's family also came to Oklahoma. Lois, I have a great deal on George and Rebecca's family, too much to send on the mail list. I would be glad to send it to you or anyone else who is interested individually. They lived in Cleveland county, Oklahoma where I live, so all the records are quite handy. In addition to the Powers and Bennetts from Whitley, I have info on James "Asbury" McKiddy, Greenberry Lawson (affiliated families are Petrey, Siler, Lambdin), several other Siler families, Rose, Smith, Faulkner and a few others. I found it's like an old time Whitley reunion here in Oklahoma.
