I don't think so, because I don't think she would have been old enough. I think you are referring to Mary K. Davis who married James Abram Garfield Petrey b. 5 Jul 1887 d. 14 Apr 1972 - son of William M. Petrey and Mary Ann (Polly) Siler. Carol

Samuel and Elizabeth Petrey had a daughter named Mary Jane Petrey b. 12 Mar 1862. However, she married Adam Williams on 8 Nov 1880, so in 1888 she would have been Mary Jane Williams. Carol
Carol, Thamk you for your reply. Mary J. Sharp would seem to be the most likely to be the one I'm looking for, but Frank and Lizzie were still married in 1900, which means he didn't marry Mary until later than the affadavit when my Mary was named Petrey. Samuel and Elizabeth Petrey did live near Nathan Lawson in 1850. Do you know know if they had a daughter named Mary? The Whitley Republican, Thursday, May 21, 1942 MIDWIVES MEETING AT HEALTH OFFICE On Thursday, May 28, there will be a meeting for all midwives in Whitley County, held at the office of the County Health Department in Williamsburg. Dr. Creech, a representative of the Bureau of Maternal and Child Welfare of the State Department of Health, will be present at the meeting to instruct and advise the women in attendance, and will show motion pictures. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and all women, practicing midwifery in the county, and all those who expect to continue to do so, are requested to attend. Also bags equipped as for delivery are to be brought in for inspection at that time. Women performing the duties of a midwife should have and should welcome qualified supervision, and should be urged to avail themselves of this opportunity to learn and to become better prepared to carry on their services in their community. R.B. Fulks, M.D. Health Officer
