He was married twice and most likely had children by the second wife-first wife unknown. He probably married her in NC as Martha was b. in NC, possibly Caswell CO. Elijah's second wife was Jane Humphreys (?-bef 1850)-he married her Nov 5, 1835 in Henderson CO., KY. Does anyone know who the first wife is? And the children by both wives? Also, Wm. T. Handley's father was Mark Applewhite Handley, md to a Mary Humphreys abt 1818 probably in NC. I have seen Mary listed as a Gibson, but I think that might be wrong. Does anyone know anything on this Humphrey line? Thanks for any help.
