    2. Folks, So far I have received two personal emails on the new FTM. One person was wanting to read all the comments from people who had actually used it as she was afraid to try it due to all the bad things she heard-- she said it is still unopened on the shelf. Another wrote that he didn't like it--he has almost 60,000 names in his database and entering info is much too slow. He said he was pleased with version 16 and would continue to use it. Could the powers that be (the ones in charge of the mail list) advise on this? I do know there are folks who probably have ordered the new FTM and are petrified on downloading it on their computer and they would like some direction. I also know that a mail list is generally for family history searches, I have seen a few mail lists get out of controll due to some lively discussions and I don't want to be the person responsible for something like that happening to a great mail list. Ancestry does have a blog on this, I was reading comments on the new FTM and overall, there seems to be far more unhappy campers with the new FTM than ones that are happy. Main problems seem to be it is way too slow, some elements of the version 16 are missing, the size of the FTM is rather large (don't know what the size is), the new FTM seems to cause crashes, and the online help you are to get doesn't seem to be there. You can google in FTM2008 blogs or comments, So guess for now, I will sit tight and use what I have. Ya'll have a nice Thanksgiving. Helen Zuber Keusch
