    3. Just thought I'd add a note. My mom just had her left knee replaced in September. She's 93, still lives alone, drives - and takes care of her own affairs. She sailed through the experience. I don't think after the first week she took any pain meds. She says the best part is that her knee doesn't hurt anymore any time it rains!
