    1. [KYWEBSTE] THANKS!! RICHTER Charles 1944 Sebree
    2. Gerry Miller
    3. Hello Carole, Thanks for your wonderful help. Bessie, Elsie, & Thelma were the names of the sisters of Charles, so I don't think Elvira would be any of them. This would be Charlene birth record. I did check out the Webster Co. obit but this is not the RICHTER I am looking for. The 1930 TN census with Dora & husband Herman is not my Dora because my Dora husband was William & he died in 1931 in MO. I really appreciate all your work, it helped me a great deal. ...Gerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carole Palmer" <cjp@insightbb.com> To: <kywebste@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2009 10:54 AM Subject: Re: [KYWEBSTE] RICHTER Charles 1944 Sebree > Hi Gerry...If there are city directories for any of the towns in Webster > County, I am unaware of them. > > I checked the Webster County marriages and only found this one for any > spelling of the Richter surname: > Elvira M. 3. Hi Gerry...If there are city directories for any of the towns in Webster County, I am unaware of them. I checked the Webster County marriages and only found this one for any spelling of the Richter surname: Elvira M. Richter to Sam'l S. House, 1934, Bk 41, p 161 You may have seen the Webster County birth record for Charlene Rictor on 28 Jul 1944 (#186-90873); her mother is listed as Bertha E. Pidcock. This birth record was a delayed filing on 19 May 1989. Fathers are not listed in the index and the index is all I have access to. The KYGenWeb site has information on how you can send for the actual birth record: http://www.kygenweb.net/vitals/index.html I checked the Webster County Message Board (where we have literally thousands of obituaries) and got only one hit for the Richter surname: http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.webster/12981/mb.ashx (You may have to cut and paste this URL into your browser's address window if it is divided into two lines in this message). Have you seen the 1930 Shelby Co TN (Memphis) census listing for a Dora E. Richter, age 48 and her husband Herman F. Richter, age 57? Living with them are sons Charles M. Richter, age 22 and Daniel W. Richter, age 19. I can e-mail that listing to you privately if you haven't seen it. That would be the extent of information available to me. I have tried to view the marriage records on Webster Co, Gen Web but I don't have what it takes to view them. I don't know when he left Webster Co. but he died 1994 in Mason Co. IL. Are there city directories or anything that would help me in determining when he was there. I really am interested in Charles mother Dora RICHTER & a daughter (sister to Charles) that may have moved to KY with Charles, so if any RICHTER is found in Webster I would really appreciate knowing. 1. [KYWEBSTE] Latest Message Board information
    2. Carole Palmer
    3. Dear Webster County mailing list subscribers: With yesterday's addition of the December 1959 obituaries, our 1950's obituary collection is now complete on the Webster County Message Board. Our Message Board now contains 17,491 entries, most of which are obituaries. If you haven't visited our Message Board, which is searchable, you are missing an opportunity to find out more about your Webster County ancestors. Here is the link: http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.webster/mb.ashx Indices for all our obituaries can be found in the Webster County Archives at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/webster/webster.html I have the microfilm for the 1960 and 1961 Providence Journal-Enterprise and in the future I will be adding those obituaries to the Message Board collection. Marian Dunn has provided me with images of 1962 obituaries from the Sebree Banner and those will be added to the Message Board as well. But first I am going to take a short break. When I get back to work, I plan to transcribe the remaining obituaries from the 2008 editions of the Sebree Banner and get them online. I have decided it is probably best to wait awhile before adding current obituaries to the site; however, I don't want to get too far behind on those. Remember when/if you respond to this message, the entire list membership will also get a copy of your reply. If you want to write only to me, my e-mail address is below. Happy New Year to all! 2. Carole Palmer
    3. Christmas greetings to Webster County researchers! Several weeks ago Sheila Penrod contributed headstone photos and a new up-to-date listing of Green Grove Cemetery. Yesterday I finished getting the photos and the listing online. You can see them at: <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kywebste/cemeteries/greengrove/green-grove-index.htm> Working with Sheila again was a real pleasure. She was one of the very first contributors to the Webster County KYGenWeb site when she sent me the 1924 Providencia, which was then scanned and put online. Thank you to Sheila and I hope each and every one of you finds what you're looking for in 2009! 3. Carol, It is always good to hear from you. None of the names that Frances Eddings sent re the Herron family rang a bell for me. I have been communicating with Trudy. My fifth and sixth grade teacher was Miss Della Herron. She was a great teacher. She lived with her elderly father,, and they connect with Trudy's line. I remember several of her Aunts and Uncles. Her mother lives in Louisville. I asked her to visit me (and you), but I'm not sure she can. 1. Re: [KYWEBSTE] Herron Heritage
    2. Carol, I haven't been busy with my genealogy for some time but I read the Herron research and it was terrific. Tell Trudy it was a job well done. I have some additional information about the Herron line. My grandfather Everett M. Jenkins, son of William Riley Jenkins, both from Webster County were some how related to the Herron family of Webster County. E. M. Jenkins did business with a Roy Herron who owned a Gulf Service Station in Princeton, Ky in the 1940-late 1960. He told me he always bought gas from Roy Herron because they were distant relatives. He also had a niece Jewell who married a Herron. Jewell had a sister named Doy Ruth and their father was George Jenkins or George Hill from Webster County. I have little information on "Uncle George" but have pictures of Jewell and Doy Ruth and would like information from any one that has them in their line. Both of them were born between 1910 and 1920 . Thanks for keeping us updated, Linda Larson -------------- Original message from "Helen W. 3. Woodbury is in Butler Co, KY where the Barren River runs into the Green River. It is southeast of Morgantown. Woodburn is in south Warren Co. about 10-12 miles south of Bowling Green. 3. Dear subscribers to the Webster County Ky mailing list: This morning I was notified by a subscriber that they were evidently unsubscribed to this mailing list by accident. As list administrator, I never unsubscribe anyone unless they have asked to be unsubbed or if there has been abuse. In the last week, I have received quite a few unsubscribe notices from RootsWeb, with the reason given that the subscribers' mail was bouncing. If you have received a notice that you were unsubscribed let me know and I will be happy to resub you. Or you can go to http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/usa/KY/webster.html and resubscribe yourself. If you were unsubscribed in error, I apologize. Of course, in that case you may not even receive this message. I may have to sent individual e-mails to those who were unsubbed in order to fix this problem. 1. [KYWEBSTE] Research trips
    2. Nancy Trice
    3. This was on one of the surname lists that I am on. It's a good thing to consider when you are getting ready for a research trip. :) Nancy I just read an article where the courthouses in Vermont may cut their operation hours by a half day due to budget cuts. Everyone is experiencing various rate hikes in our daily needs (utilities, food, gas, etc) and government centers are no exception. With this in mind, we could be looking at courthouses across the nation cutting back their operation hours. If this happens then anything we request which requires the US Postal Service will probably require more time. When making visits from out of county or state, I strongly suggest that you call about a week before your planned trip to a courthouse to get their current hours. Don't assume that the hours are the same as your last trip even if it was a few months ago. Anything can change and only those in the county may be notified via local newspapers. I know from personal experience that some open as early as 7am, some close the offices from noon to 1pm for lunch and some close at 4 or 430pm. Debbi VCI WebMail http://www.vci.net
