Sorry, I don't have that information but I do have some information on the Francis Liles family. The farm where he lived with his wife and children is located on Sights Road. Hi all.... Even with all the rain we've had in Kentucky this spring (and I hear thunder in the distance as I write this), I prefer this weather to the ice storm of last winter. Hope you all are enjoying the end of spring and the approach of summer wherever you are. Amy Dunn has discovered a web site she wants to share with you. It's a digital collection project of the State Library of North Carolina and the North Carolina State Archives. "North Carolina Family Records Online" <http://statelibrary.ncdcr.gov/dimp/digital/ncfamilyrecords/> Amy thought this will be of interest since many of our Webster County ancestors had North Carolina roots. If you're not reading Brenda Jerome's Western KY Genealogy Blog at http://wkygenealogy.blogspot.com/ you are missing some very good information about Webster and surrounding counties. Brenda published the highly regarded Western Kentucky Journal quarterly for fourteen years (from 1994-2007). Almost all the material for Brenda's blog comes from public records. No records less than 75 years old - dated later than 1934 in this year of 2009 - are published. Scroll through the Blog Archive on the right hand side and I am sure you will find something of interest. You can sign up to be notified when Brenda posts a new entry to the blog. Good job, Brenda! Helen, I'm delighted you've already found something helpful in the Delayed Birth Records. To me, the words "Delayed Birth Records" don't really describe the records very well. According to Roseann Hogan, this way of getting a birth record was for folks who were born BEFORE 1911 when KY started keeping birth records. Especially when Social Security came along in 1935, people needed a way of providing proof of their age, so evidently that's when the delayed records came into play. Again, according to Hogan, the delayed certificates were filed separately from other birth records. But the index was evidently available at the KY Historical Society and now it has been transcribed. Mary Hatton and Suzanne Shephard offered them last week to all the KYGenWeb counties that wanted them and said we were welcome to put them online. Jerry Brock was the one who figured out how to pull the various county records out so we could put them on our county web sites. We owe the three of them a big thank you. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as you are, Helen.
