    1. [KYWEBSTE] Petty
    2. I have been trying to subscribe to the Ohio CO mail list and for some reason it will not let me. So I am hoping that this will go through. I am looking for a Patience S. Petty, had a daughter Margaret who married a William H. Marlow. Patience may have been married to Sandefur Petty, or she may have been single. In 1850 Patience is in OH CO with her family. In 1860 she is listed as P. S. Petty, 69, lady doctor, b. in VA. I'd like to find for certain if she was married to Sandefur Petty (he was not on the 1850 census, but was on the 1840 OH CO census). I have some information that state she may have stayed single. Or she may have been born a Petty, married a Petty. My personal email is gkeusch@psci.net Zuber, Land, Edwards, Crabtree, Bennett, Goodwin, Chapman, Eakins, Handley, Ezell, Sandefur, Ford/Foard, Melton, Gutekunst/Goodart, Anthis, Bangert (my lines); Keusch, Zimmerman, Ackerman, Burger, Hopf, Mehringer, Becher, Schitter/Schuetter, Hochgesang, Schmitt, Hurst, Baumert (hubby's lines)

    3. Hi Don...Webster County (KY) mailing list subscribers received an e-mail from your computer yesterday asking recipients to go to a certain place on the web and add their birthdays to a birthday calendar you are creating. Several other Kentucky mailing lists received the same e-mail and we have decided your computer has contracted a virus that is causing these e-mails to be send out from your address book to people listed there. I asked subscribers of the Webster mailing list to ignore the message and not to go to the web site or their computers might contract the virus as well. Shortly after that, I noticed you had unsubscribed to the mailing list so I am assuming you realized you had a virus. But several people thought I should write and tell you about it just in case you were still unaware. Viruses can be very troublesome; I hope you have managed to get some help to eradicate the virus from your computer. Should you decided to resubscribe to the Webster County Mailing list, let me know and I will see that you are resubbed right away. Best wishes, Carole Palmer List manager for the Webster County (KY) mailing list.

Rita is the new treasurer of the Webster County Historical & Genealogy Society and she helped us update their data online at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kywebste/wch_gs.htm You will notice the society has new officers, who are planning to start issuing their quarterly, Webster's Wagon Wheel, again soon. Also note that most of the books the Society has for sale have been reduced in price. So it would be a good opportunity to make some purchases if you were planning to do so. 1. [KYWEBSTE] New WCH&G Research Room
    2. Carole Palmer
    3. According to a story in the June 18, 2009 issue of the Sebree Banner, a new Webster County Historical and Genealogical Society research room at the Webster County Library in Dixon was opened last week. The library is located at 101 State Route 132E, across from the courthouse in Dixon. Genealogy librarian Susan Smith will be available to help with the center M-F from 9-4. Society members will also be available to help researchers. President of the WCH&G Society is Doug Davis and vice-president is Paul Cowan. The society was organized in 1979 and until recently published a quarterly, The Wagon Wheel, which featured information about the county and various families and events. Davis and Cowan are hopeful that publication of the Wagon Wheel will resume. Roxie Rhea, who has been instrumental in the publication noted that people who have historical documents may submit them for consideration for publication in the quarterly. The Webster County KYGenWeb site long ago gave the society permission to use anything from our site in Wagon Wheel. The society has publications available for sale, including cemetery and church records; ordering information is online at <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kywebste/wch_gs.htm> Next meeting of the WCH&G Society will be this coming Saturday, June 27, at 9 a.m. in the new genealogy room. Membership is open to everyone. The group meets on the fourth Saturday of every month. Have a great summer.
