John W. Malone, Major in Faulkner's Twelfth Kentucky Cavalry, CSA, is a totally different person from the John W. Malone of Malone's Battalion Kentucky Cavalry and Thirtieth Regiment Texas Cavalry, CSA. The records from the National Archives prove this, but the records are listed as being the same person.
