You know, I joined both of these groups, actually thinking there were "helpful" people out there! Well, I see now I was sadly mistaken! All I asked was a simple request, and it's true, nobody here owes me a thing, No word of explanation, No apologies because hey, we don't know you from Adam! And your right, you don't BUT we had one common link, to try and gather as much data as we could from this mailing list of our respective families. My situation is a little more Complex than that. I am handicapped. So I am unable to get into my car, and drive the 1000 K miles to Carlisle, KY and look at this statue myself. And I have seen that there are folks here on this list who either live close to, or actually in Carlisle, KY. And here's it's been about a month now, and nothing I always thought <and from my own perspective I am > we folks who are searching into the past, were a more helpful lot. I am sadden that you have proven me wrong. I request you remove me from your "list" Good ! luck with your own searches. You know, I never saw your message in which you apparently asked for a photo or something of a monument. Did you offer to pay for film and processing? Did you offer anything in return (research, etc... )? > My situation is a little more Complex than that. I am handicapped. You might engender a bit more sympathy if you removed the large chip from your shoulder. >So I am unable to get into my car, and drive the 1000 K miles to Carlisle, KY and look at this statue myself. Just to be helpful.... > I request you remove me from your "list" Good ! >luck with your own searches. Hey, thanks for the good wishes! Actually, I don't live in Kentucky either, and really have no idea where Carlisle is, so I can't help you out. >Regards, > >Michael Johnson > >Great,Great nephew of Private Lewis Johnson >9th Ind. cav.
