Hello, my name is Leslie Widener. My Great-Great-Grandfather Andrew Widener, and his brother Henry Widener were members of the above unit. Would be interested in contacting anyone whose ancestors were in the same unit. Have photos of Camp Nelson, near Nicholasville, Kentucky taken during the Civil War. plus other info. The only thing left of this huge encampment is a National Cemetary. Both men enlisted at Flat Lick, Kentucky on 27 June 1863(Knox Co.) Thanks, Les

At Camp Nelson there are earth works, and the house used by the quartermaster. The house has been restored and is open to the public. All in addition to the cemetery. -- ______________________ Jim Cox [email protected] Genealogy: Freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jcox The mighty oak tree was once just a nut that stood it's ground!
How do I go about seeing where my folks served and with which regiments, etc.? Is there a searchable site? Thanks, Sandy
