Greetings! I just came into possession of a family bible with a pencilled civil war record in it. I have tried to identify the person by going through the Kentucky Civil War pages but can't get anywhere. Can anyone help me identify the following individual based on the information I have? First initial is very fuzzy but is possibly a J., the second initial is most likely H., last name is Barnett. Enlisted Aug 18 1862 Captured Oct 20 1863 [Next word is probably Released] Dec 16 1864 There is a notation on the page "Camp Nelson KY" The bible belonged to one Dudley H. Barnett who married in Jessamine Co., KY in 1839. Is this enough information to try to identify the soldier? Thanks for any assistance, --Sheryl Neal Slaughter
