There are about 25 Denney listings in the residential pages of the St. Louis, Mo., phone directory. I have found that making calls to clusters of people on the "trail west" from Wayne County to the Gold Rush Country of Califor-ni-a can yield some contacts. The Gold Rush official dates are from 1848 to 1855, but word traveled slowly, and people were still leaving for the golden lands of the west for decades after the mines were exhausted. If you hit a real wall with your research, get a copy of the AT&T White Pages for St. Louis and start calling to see what you nuggest (of information) you might discover! "Leave no stone unturned!"
