I don't have a clue how this works...but, I saw it online and signed up for it to see what kind of information I would get. A lot of my Mother's, Dad's family came from Wayne County. I think the original three brothers, Thomas, Leonard and Robert Dodson were some of the first men to come to Kentucky from Virginia. (My first ancestor in the new world was John Dods that was a part of the Jamestown settlement. He came from England in 1608 at the age of 18/) Many of their families remained in Wayne County. My grandfather (at age 14) moved to Oklahoma with his family (James R. and Elizabeth Simpson Dodson) in 1907. Any information would be so greatly appreciated. What is the charge? I was happy to just find a website about Wayne County. Thank you for your fine work. Ina, there is no charge to belong to the Wayne County list. We are just a bunch of people looking for our ancestors just as you are. I have some Dodsons in my line. They married into my Denney family. I'll gather what I have and email it to you. Welcome Ina (Sissie Prince) I'm sure we are all glad that you've found us! And you have hit the jackpot, because many of us are your long lost cousins! I am also a Dodson descendent, and have Simpsons in my line as well. And my Wayne County folks also made their way out to Oklahoma one way or another. Obviously you have traced your Dodson line far back. What are you working on now? Many of us have our lines pretty well mapped out and are now untying some age old knots or adding primary sources to back up our dates and events (with, for example wills ( a BIG topic lately) and deeds). There are many folks on this site wite very detailed and personal data on Wayne County people and events who would love to help you out. Again: welcome to our world. Connie Davis (Castillo, Dodson, Christman, et al)
