Robbins, 70, Springport, passed away Saturday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a sudden illness. She was born Nov. 4, 1932, In Monticello, Ky., to the late William and Hattie Walker. Betty retired from Ball State University after 26 years as a telephone operator. She was president of Hump's Happy Hoosiers (Engelbert Humperdinck's fan club) and the Ball State Sympathy Club. Survivors include two sons, Mark Randall Robbins of Indianapolis, and Kevin L. Robbins (wife: Pamela) of Muncie; a daughter, Tina M. Helton (husband: Mark) of Muncie; eight grandchildren, Mark R. Helton (wife: Anitra), Jessica Rogers (husband: Tyler), Traci Robbins, Lee Robbins, Ashley Rhea, Danielle Rhea, Marshall Robbins and Evan Robbins; three great-grandchildren, Tyce Rogers, Chloe Rogers and Sofia Helton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dolph (Bud) Robbins on April 17 of this year; her parents; a brother, Bruce Walker; and a sister, Genevieve (Genie) Johnson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday and an hour before services on Tuesday at Parson Mortuary.
