Does any have a clue as to how I can trace the Maynard family originally from TN, then to KY? I guess they originally came from NC, but cannot the right family(ies)to connect the dots to James M. Maynard of Fentress Co., TN. He would have been my g-grandfather. The good news is that I finally was able to talk with one of my uncles on that side of the family. My grandmother was the Maynard, my grandfather was the Hamblin. He was very nice, but is older, and very ill, and did not know much of anything about the ancestors, beyond his own mom and dad, brothers and sisters. I have gotten so much better at searching, so much better at documenting etc., but cannot seem to find these families. I would appreciate any help that anyone might be able to provide me with. Sincerely, Lea Roberts
Lea, As I suggested to the last poster.... if you will provide more info on the family you are trying to trace we might be able to assist you with your search. Please include things you already have such as census years, etc so we don't give you things you already know. Lea, Do you have any dates for James M. Maynard? And what are the names of your uncle, his parents & siblings? Do you have approximate dates for any of them?
