I once read in other old Baptist records that one could be excluded from the church for "attending a party where fiddles might be played." Now that's pretty severe, don't you think? I can't remember just which church it was, but I believe it was a Baptist church in Anderson County, KY, where my Dad grew up. I grew up in a Baptist church, but never heard about all this until I started doing family research. I guess it's a good thing that you and I never had to live up to those rules, huh?!? Joyce
