Hi all! I am researching my family history in Monticello, Wayne County, KY, and Overton County, TN. Family name is Harmon/Harman. I've found and visited with distant cousins in Wayne County near the old area called Hidalgo and Harmon Hallow. My g-g-g grandfather was Caleb Harmon, born in Virginia around 1797, died in 1874 in Monticello, Wayne County, KY and is buried at Taylor Grove Cemetery. For about a year, I've been trying to find out who Caleb's parents are. A recent search on the Internet brought up a site naming his parents as George Charles Harmon and Nancy Elizabeth Neal. The person with this information and I exchanged E-Mails, and she said the Paducah, KY DAR accepted this information -- it was in a bible belonging to a Caleb's oldest son, Thomas. I guess I'm asking if anyone there knows where I might go to verify this information. OR, since the DAR already accepted it, can I assume it to be fact?
