According to a written family account Martin Luther BERTRAM (1827 - 1865), son of Nancy (STINSON) and William BERTRAM, III, of Wayne Co., KY was killed during the Civil War at Rock Creek. This was not the Rock Creek in far away Grayson Co., KY but one in or near Wayne Co., KY. It could have been in a neighboring county, such as Clinton, Pulaski Whitley, etc. Martin BERTRAM was a civilian, not a soldier. An exact quote of the incident is " Martin was killed during the Civil War. He was knocked in the head with a rock by Bill MILLIGAN of Aleck EVANS Company, at Rock Creek." Does anyone know where this Rock Creek could have been? Does anyone have any information on the Aleck EVANS Company? On which side was Aleck EVANS? Thanks for any help!
