MUNCIE - Homer T. Corder, age 89, of Muncie passed away Wednesday April 28, 2004 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born March 25, 1915 in Concord, Kentucky to the late Jimmy and Willie (Gibson) Corder. He was a World War II Army veteran and Prisoner Of War. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post #231 Indianapolis. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. He was a Machinist retiring from Barkley Manufacturing with 37 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife Dora, son Homer Lee Corder of Muncie, two daughters Doris (husband Tony) Miller of Muncie and Kathy Stone of Muncie, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death two sons Jerry and Paul Corder, his parents, two brothers Guy and James Corder, and one sister Gaynelle Corder. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday May 1, 2004 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Hoyt Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary.
