My chapter will "focus on musicians and singers in the days before radio and TV, and then move along to radio and TV country and bluegrass music groups and individuals that performed during those years. The focus should also include individuals and groups that are currently active, including what many people these days refer to as contemporary country music....it would be appropriate to include information about rock and roll and rap groups that performed, perhaps still do" in Wayne County. "While country and bluegrass groups sing gospel songs, and do a fine job, let's not include local gospel groups that typically sing only at church events." (Dr. Montell's words.)
