Hello Wayne County, I'm a new List member interested in researching my Kentucky ancestors, some who were known to have lived in Wayne County in the 1800's. Being "new", means sitting back and observing other members posts and getting a feel of the friendliness.....or NOT. A few days ago, there were a couple of posts regarding 2 of my ancestral surnames, WRIGHT and DICKERSON. The post was sent by [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> whom I do not know, a total stranger to me. Being very excited about the possibility of a new ancestral discovery, I emailed this person in a polite, friendly manner asking them if they connected to these two lines and if so, would they please contact me privately so we could talk further. This morning, I received a rude reply back from them asking me, "what's my problem".......!!!!! It now appears to me, (a new Wayne Co. List Member), that my genealogical inquiries are not welcome and therefore I will now unsubscribe from the KYWAYNE! -List. It was my understanding that the purpose of sending genealogical posts to the List was to further discovery of one's ancestral roots, and not to be so rudely asked, "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?"
