    3. Virginia M. Gaylord FOWLER -- Virginia M. Gaylord, 82, of Fowler, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Green Hill Manor Nursing Home. Born May 19, 1922, in Kidd's Crossing, Ky., she married Edwin Lee Gaylord on April 1, 1939, in Fowler. He died Feb. 15, 2003. Mrs. Gaylord was a homemaker. She was a memmber of First Presbyterian Church in Fowler for more than 50 years. She was a past member of Order of the Eastern Star Fowler Chapter 493, and along with her husband had been a member of Benton County Country Club, where she was an avid golfer. She enjoyed cooking, oil painting, reading, gardening, collecting antiques, entertaining, traveling and playing cards. Surviving are four daughters, June Gaylord of Fowler, Joan Wang (husband: Butch) of Sheldon, Ill., Debra Remsburg (husband: Dennis) of West Lafayette, and Sandra Tubbs (husband: Joe) of Lafayette; four sons, Kenny Gaylord (companion: Donita) of Aurora, Joe Gaylord (wife: Frances) of West Lafayette, David Gaylord (wife: Mechelle) of Fowler and Terry Gaylord (wife: Donna) of West Lafayette; a brother, Robert Anderson of Monticello, Ky.; and a sister, Lori Burke of Swanington. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Windler Funeral Home, Fowler. Services there 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, Pastor Doug Workman officiating. Interment Fowler Cemetery. She enjoyed attending grandchildren's school activities and doing for others. She was a devoted mother and friend who will always be remembered as seldom forgetting to send a birthday card to family, relatives and friends. She was a giving person and opened her heart and home to many who have never forgotten her concern for them. Survivors include 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, Link and Mattie Worley Anderson of Monticello, Ky.; 5 brothers, Coolidge, Huey, Dewey, Oscar and Rossi Anderson; and 3 sisters, Lilly Dotson, Lula Clark and Della Anderson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrance be made in Virginia's name to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 96911, Washington, D.C., 20090-6911; or the Benton County Cancer Association.
