    3. I have not researched this family for many years but after seeing the family of Absalom Davenport in the 1850 Census of Hendricks Co, Indiana, I believe I have found an important clue. John and Nancy Burnett Davenport's son, Absalom named a son GREENVILLE T. DAVENPORT. The "T" stands for THURMAN. This name, Greenville Thurman was used in other Burnett families. One intermarried with the ISHAM HALL family of Virginia and North Carolina. 1850 Hendricks Co, IN p.65B - #900 Eel River Township Absolem Davenport 31 KY (1819); farmer $600 Jennetta 27 KY (1823) John J. 12 KY (1838) Julia Ann 09 KY (1841) William H. 07 KY (1843) GREENVILLE T. 03 KY (1847 Alfred H. 01 KY (1849) I now believe our JOHN DAVENPORT married first to LUCY HALL on 12 December 1791 in Franklin County, Virginia [joining Patrick County]. LUCY HALL was daughter of Isham Hall. I am assuming Lucy died, probably in childbirth before John Davenport married 2/ 13 March 1796 in Patrick Co, VA to NANCY BURNETT. However, if Lucy did die, she had time to have at least 2 or 3 children in 5 years. I thought it odd that the name of “Nancy OR Lucy” are diminutives of the name “Anne, Hannah or Agnes.” John Davenport's father was probably old Elisha Davenport listed on the 1830 Census of Wayne Co. Have not found proof. 1830 Wayne Co, Ky Census p.249 ELISHA DAVENPORT 80-90 (born 1740-50) 1 female 30-40 (1790-1800; new wife?) 1 female 00-05 (1825-1830) Elisha living next to Elizabeth Small (widow of Thomas) & Robt. Lockhart, both Burnett connections. Patrick Co, Va joined state of North Carolina. Many, many moved back and forth between the two states.
