She was born August 26th, 1922 in Sunnybrook, Ky. And was the daughter of the late Addis and Sara Lee (Asberry) Bertram and her step mother Bertha Bertram. Nellie retired about 1987 from Bud Alexanders Cafeteria in New Castle after 25 years of service. She was a past member of the California Street Church of God. She is survived by 13 children including: nine daughters, Gladys (husband-Frank) Ramseyer of Hartford City, Juanita Hicks of New Castle, Faye (husband-Alva) Perry of New Castle, June (husband- Jay) French of New Castle, Ann (husband-Billy) Carroll of New Castle, Peggy (husband-John) Schott of St. Joe, Missouri, Loretta (husband-Lonnie) Duvall of Straughn,In., Julie (husband-Darrell) Duvall of Ft. Wayne, Donna (husband-Steve) Logan of New Castle; four sons, Gene (wife- Wanda) Bertram, Dean (wife-Bessie) Bertram, Ray Bertram, Roy Bertram all of New Castle; 32 grandchildren ; 54 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Savella Alley of New Castle, Beth Todd of Hagerstown, Daisy Lusters of Monticello, Ky.; two brothers, Eulan Bertram and Rubin Bertram both of Monticello, Ky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis William Bertram in 1961; a grandson, Russell Stephens in 2004; three sisters, Eva Mae Asberry, Leatha Lusters, Montie Hicks; threebrothers, Howard Bertram, Thomas Bertram, and Ernest Bertram. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 6th,2007, at the Marcum Community Funeral Home with Dr. David L Perry officiating. BERTRAM, age 83, of New Castle, Ind., passed away Friday, July 9, 2004 at his home. He was born January 18, 1921 in Sunnybrook, Ky., the son of the late Addis and Sara Lee ASBERRY BERTRAM. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother - Berthie BERTRAM. He married Ethel Marie BERTRAM, who preceded him in death. He later married Martha Lorton BERTRAM who survives. He is also survived by four children - Millard "Bill" BERTRAM of Lima, Ohio, Gleason BERTRAM and Kathy BERTRAM of New Castle, Ind. and Linda DAVIS of Monticello, Ky.; two step daughters - Paula WEST and Patricia LOGSTON of New Castle, Ind.; four sisters - Nellie BERTRAM and Savella ALLEY of New Castle, Ind., Beth TODD of Hagerstown, Ind., and Daisy FULTON of Monticello, Ky.; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by one daughter - Hazel Irene BERTRAM; three sisters - Eva Mae ASBERRY, Leatha FULTON, and Monie HICKS; two brothers - Howard BERTRAM and Thomas BERTRAM; and one granddaughter. He worked for and retired from Dana Corp. after 39 years, where he was a furnace operator. He was a member of the UAW Local 370. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby SLAGLE officiating. Burial was in South Mound Cemetery. She was born August 26th, 1922 in Sunnybrook, Ky. And was the daughter of the late Addis and Sara Lee (Asberry) Bertram and her step mother Bertha Bertram. Nellie retired about 1987 from Bud Alexanders Cafeteria in New Castle after 25 years of service. She was a past member of the California Street Church of God. She is survived by 13 children including: nine daughters, Gladys (husband-Frank) Ramseyer of Hartford City, Juanita Hicks of New Castle, Faye (husband-Alva) Perry of New Castle, June (husband- Jay) French of New Castle, Ann (husband-Billy) Carroll of New Castle, Peggy (husband-John) Schott of St. Joe, Missouri, Loretta (husband-Lonnie) Duvall of Straughn,In., Julie (husband-Darrell) Duvall of Ft. Wayne, Donna (husband-Steve) Logan of New Castle; f! our sons, Gene (wife- Wanda) Bertram, Dean (wife-Bessie) Bertram, Ray Bertram, Roy Bertram all of New Castle; 32 grandchildren ; 54 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Savella Alley of New Castle, Beth Todd of Hagerstown, Daisy Lusters of Monticello, Ky.; two brothers, Eulan Bertram and Rubin Bertram both of Monticello, Ky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis William Bertram in 1961; a grandson, Russell Stephens in 2004; three sisters, Eva Mae Asberry, Leatha Lusters, Montie Hicks; threebrothers, Howard Bertram, Thomas Bertram, and Ernest Bertram. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 6th,2007, at the Marcum Community Funeral Home with Dr. David L Perry officiating. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother - Berthie BERTRAM. He married Ethel Marie BERTRAM, who preceded him in death. He later married Martha Lorton BERTRAM who survives. He is also survived by four children - Millard "Bill" BERTRAM of Lima, Ohio, Gleason BERTRAM and Kathy BERTRAM of New Castle, Ind. and Linda DAVIS of Monticello, Ky.; two step daughters - Paula WEST and Patricia LOGSTON of New Castle, Ind.; four sisters - Nellie BERTRAM and Savella ALLEY of New Castle, Ind., Beth TODD of Hagerstown, Ind., and Daisy FULTON of Monticello, Ky.; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildr! en; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by one daughter - Hazel Irene BERTRAM; three sisters - Eva Mae ASBERRY, Leatha FULTON, and Monie HICKS; two brothers - Howard BERTRAM and Thomas BERTRAM; and one granddaughter. He worked for and retired from Dana Corp. after 39 years, where he was a furnace operator. He was a member of the UAW Local 370. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby SLAGLE officiating. Burial was in South Mound Cemetery.
