The workers are very nice and accomodating at both places. I always leave them with a small gift of choclates or such to thank for their efforts when I visit. I am interested in the fact that you are researching the Lair & Taylor lines and Spann hill. I have relatives in those families as well. If you care to contact me, we can exchange info. 3. Nora and List, I am the ggg-grandson of John and Nancy (Burnett) Davenport of Wayne Co. and I had read that John served under Capt.John Dick's 53rd.Regiment,Ky.Militia in the war of 1812, he served in 1813, land records show he had no land until 1814,when he was shown with 90 acres on sinking creek, entered in the name of John Alcorn and Eleanor Cole. He supposedly also served under Capt.John Fosters Regiment 1814, I ordered his records from NARA and they sent me the records of John Davenport that married Nancy March and after the war they moved to Missouri, (not the right John Davenport at all) they say they have no record of him serving with Capt.Foster. I was trying to get all my family records ordered before NARA raises the fee, the pension records are suppose to go from $37 to $125. Thanks to all and any help would be appreciated, Duane Davenport ----- Original Message ----- From: BIGSINKING@aol.com<mailto:BIGSINKING@aol.com> To: kywayne@rootsweb.com<mailto:kywayne@rootsweb.com> Yes, it is the same one. John Dick, Jr. married Elizabeth Chrisman and they had 16 children. When Elizabeth Chrisman died (she is buried at the Dick Family Cemetery in Big Sinking area of Wayne County, KY), John then married again, but no children by her. That Elizabeth Dick is buried at the Roberts Cemetery in the Pueblo area, which is part of Big Sinking. John, Jr. was in the War of 1812 and I belong to the Daughters of 1812. Elizabeth Chrisman Dick's father, Isaac Chrisman (her mother was Sarah Gholson who died in Virginia after she gave birth to Elizabeth) and her grandfather, Anthony Gholson (who was in the Revolutionary War) were first trustees of Wayne County, Kentucky. John Dick, Jr. was sheriff at one time in Wayne County. Nora
