    3. Hi, Janet. I'm just a little confused. The only Archibald West I find in Indiana in the 1850 census is married to an Elizabeth (both born in Kentucky), and their first born is a son named Washington West, not M. Perry West. I can find no M. Perry West connected to Archibald and Elizabeth. There are several Worleys listed in the WAYNE COUNTY, KENTUCKY MARRIAGES AND VITAL RECORDS VOLUME ONE BY JUNE BALDWIN BORK. None of them are named Elizabeth. I find no Archibald West in that book at all, nor do I find a Betsy Denny. There are three Elizabeth Dennys, but none married to an Archibald West. There are many Wests listed also, but no Archibald. 2. Bill & Sharon Ramsey
    3. Hi Lois and Joy, I have been watching with interest your communications about the Ramsey families of Wayne Co. Please keep me in the fold. I haven't worked on my Ramsey's for some time now. I was hoping that someone with the new Ramsey DNA results would go ahead and identify the parents of John Ramsey Sr. and Richard Ramsey, d. 1822. It took me more than ten years to finally link these two guys. DNA results from descendants from both John and Richard had a perfect 37 marker match. These guys are either brothers or uncle and nephew. Being a 37 marker match and the fact that John names his 4th son Richard, b. 1813, would lead me to believe that they were brothers. Also in the Richard Ramsey household in Burke Co., NC. in the 1790 census, there is an "extra" teenage male. This extra male I believe is our John Ramsey Sr., b. 1777. Here I am getting all worked up again about this genealogy stuff. I may have to get back to work. Ladies have a nice day, and drop me a line now and then Bill Ramsey

    3. Diane, So neat to hear from someone outside the family who sorta kinda validates the info I have. Thanks for the question! Short answer is I don't know off the top of my head. I will have to look it up (and I will). I do know Mordecai was married to a Dabney while in Virginia and that the Dabney family (including Mordecai and his wife and kids) moved to Wayne County shortly after he returned from fighting in the War of 1812. I will scour for a "Matilda." From what you have provided, I wonder if she might have been Mordecai's daughter. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Parrish" <dianesparrish@mac.com> To: <kywayne@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 07, 2009 5:05 AM Subject: Re: [KYWAYNE] Wayne county will index? > Dan, > I have always wondered if my Jesse Burris's second wife, Matilda > McClain (b. abt. 1811 in VA; married Jesse in 1843 in Wayne county, > KY) is related to Mordecai. 3. Anna, I appreciate your kind words. The main reason I did not want it on a web site is because I basically used information from a copyrighted publication and I am not sure about the legalities if I put it out there. That is why I included the note that I created it for my own personal use, which I truly did. It's funny how these things come about, because when I answered the inquiry about a will index I intended to send it directly to the person asking about it and only after I sent it did I realize it went through the website. The way it worked out, I guess it was supposed to be made available to others. I hope it is useful, and I'll give your suggestion some more thought.  Lois ________________________________ From: Anna L Bertram <abertram@dtccom.net> To: kywayne@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, August 7, 2009 8:37:29 AM Subject: [KYWAYNE] Wayne County will index on Excel Spreadsheet Lois, I was able to open it and WOW!!! A big thank you! I have already found some names I need to check further. This is such a wonderful tool you have unselfishly shared. Even though you do not wish to publish it I encourage you to offer it to Marilyn Gregory Fisher for use on the Wayne Co., KY GenWeb. It would help may other people that way without being published. The GenWeb is free to anyone researching their family genealogy. You may go directly to it through the following URL: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kywayne/wayne.html Again, I thank you and hope you will consider my suggestion. 3. Dan, I have always wondered if my Jesse Burris's second wife, Matilda McClain (b. abt. 1811 in VA; married Jesse in 1843 in Wayne county, KY) is related to Mordecai. Have you ever run across any information on that? It may be that McClain was her married name, not her maiden name, as she had a daughter Vianna McClain who married, or at least lived with and had a child with Stewart Gragg. Do you know if Matilda might have first been married to one of your McClains? Thanks! Diane
