Gary, He was shown on the 1900 Putnam Co., TN census as a teamster and on the 1910 Scott Co., TN Census as a timber cutter. What is your guess as to where he would next show? I know nothing about following the railroad. Is there a book that would guide me? Thanks! Anna Bertram
Anna, It seems that Jacob G. Catron was following the railroad industry by the dates you listed. You might keep that in mind in your search. Gary D. Thank you! I don't know how I overlooked the obvious, but I did. Yes the burial listed as Rosa E. Catron is the same as Rosa Emarine Bertram Catron, 1st wife of Jacob G. Catron. Now I would still like to find where Jake is buried. I did check Pleasant Hill for him and didn't find him listed there in the cemetery. He was in Putnam Co., TN in 1900 and Roane Co., TN in 1910, both times with his 2nd wife, Polly Malissa Buck Catron. That is as far as I've gone regarding Jacob G. Catron so far. To tidy things up I still hope to find where he is buried. Thanks again for your great help! Rose Emerine Bertram Catron is buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Powersburg, Wayne Co., KY; this is taken from the Wayne County, Kentucky Cemeteries and it also appears on page 129 of the Cemeteries of Wayne County, Kentucky published by Nancy and Gary Norris (the copyright is 2007) by it is has the cemetery as Pleasant HIll Baptist. I believe it is safe to say they are the same cemetery. Debbie
Lois, I would like to have a copy of your Wills index spread sheet. I am researching the Dean family. Thank you so much. Bonnie Martin bonnie2463@yahoo.com

Lois, I'm getting on the band wagon to request a copy of the Wills spreadsheet. Thanks in advance! Carolyn Storie
Have a couple of questions I hope someone knows the answers . . . where are Jacob Catron and his wife, Rosa Emerine Bertram Catron, buried? Also, when and where did they marry? Here is more information: Jacob Catron was born 28 Jul 1858 in Sunnybrook, Wayne Co., Kentucky and died somewhere on 05 Feb 1950 but I can't find him on the Social Security Death Index. Rosa Emerine Bertram was born 25 Mar 1863 in Wayne Co., Kentucky and died somewhere on 22 Jun 1895. They were married before 1881 somewhere but I can't find that information either. Rosa Emerine was a daughter of Rev. Jonathan and Pharaba (Adkins) Bertram of Sunnybrook, Wayne Co., KY. Thanks for reading this! I will be very grateful if any one knows the answers. Sincerely, Anna Bertram

A big thank you! I have already found some names I need to check further. This is such a wonderful tool you have unselfishly shared. Even though you do not wish to publish it I encourage you to offer it to Marilyn Gregory Fisher for use on the Wayne Co., KY GenWeb. It would help may other people that way without being published. I would like to receive a copy of the Will index. Thank you, June
Lois, Thanks, thanks and more thanks for sending me the Index to Wayne Co wills that you prepared. I know this must have taken up a lot of your time. Because of the will index, I now know who my great, great, great grandparents are! Thomas b.1794 and Mary "Polly" Smith b. 1797 Marcum. Thomas and Mary had always been on my short list of potential ancestors I only knew that my great, great grandmother (Dicey/Nicey/Vanesa) Marcum b. about 1816/17 had married (2-8-1832) James Sloan. I found a lot of James' ancestors (Sloans and Burnetts) but did not know who her parents were. So, thanks to you I can add Thomas and Mary "Polly" Smith Marcum to my family tree! By the way, James and wife Rachel (what happened to Dicey/Nicey/Vanesa?) were on the 1870 Johnson Co, IL census. Our understanding is that they (Polly's parents) came to IL, along with daughter Mary "Polly"Sloan Arter/Arthur and granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Arter. Mary "Polly" Sloan Arter/Arthur m. Joseph May 10-26-1867, she died c. 1876. Charles Sloan (son of James and Vanesa and brother of Mary "Polly Sloan Arter/Arthur), along with wife Serena and 4 children were also on the Johnson Co, IL census. I guess after Polly died, James and wife (Rachel?/Vanesa?) returned to KY. They are listed on the 1880 Albany, Clinton Co census, ages 76 and 74. Mary Elizabeth Arter b. 1862 d. 1928 m. Jasper Newton Dalton b. 1862 d. 1925 in Johnson Co, IL on 3-22-1885. They are my grandparents and died in Mound City, PU Co, IL. I was born in 1938, so never knew either grandparent, though my oldest brother did as he was 7 when grandfather died and 10 when grandmother died! Again, thanks so much. Charlotte Dalton Burd Olmsted, Pu Co, IL
